Forged Uprising

Technology has a strange way of taking things away and handing other things back.

I have been in IT for over 30 years. After enough years living in all those ones and zeros, some parts of life got quiet. Singing, writing music, sitting around with family while everybody sang and danced, those things slowly moved further away.

But there is another side to it. Technology can bring lost things back. It can take written lyrics and help shape the melodies that match the feeling. It can turn an idea into an image with a few words in a browser. It can clean up an old recording, build a track, and help a voice find its way again.

A friend helped pave the way into music a long time ago. Since then life did what life does and the paths drifted apart. But the seed was planted and it never fully went away.

After picking it back up, the journey started with what was already here. Cubase still sitting on the shelf, a little dusty but familiar. Some equipment that never quite got put away. Then came the rabbit hole of web applications, each one promising something different. What became clear pretty quickly is that most of these apps make everyone sound good. Sometimes so good that the true raw sound gets softened into something polished and safe. But close enough to enjoy, close enough to share a story, and at the end of the day that is what this is all about.

Forged Uprising is me writing music again, experimenting again, and bringing old and new ideas to life one track at a time.
